I am so in love with this word recently...As i was a newbie in Psychiatry...confabulation was such a foreign word....The meaning ,according to stedman dictionary is :"the making of bizzare and incorrect response,and a readiness to give a fluent but tangential answer,with no regards whatever to facts...."...
I have been using it so often(verbal and practically)....sometimes it occur spontaneously when i was struck with unprepared question from lecturers....sometimes was just trying to save myself and oncall partner from a vicious scolding or writting a explain letter....yes....Confabulation....an act of self defense,an act of self saving.....
Mind you,i am not having memory lost,or demented...it was pure gesture of life saving technique...i may be a sinner...but amazingly i felt no guilt...but definitely,confabulation is not a word for medical student in his final MBBS,yes,this i promise myself...haha....
